物件探し⑧ 小さい古民家 / House Hunting 8: Small Kominka

ウェブサイトを見ていて、福知山に小さい古民家を見つけました。
本当に山の中にあり、家からは車で1時間半ほどでしたが、田舎に住んでいる従妹の家からすぐ（同じ村）の場所でした。
家は200万円で売られていました。平屋で、小さい庭があり、半分リノベーションされていました。最新の設備はなく、キッチンもありませんでしたが、土間と竈がありました。
土間というのは、玄関と居住エリア（畳の部屋など）の間にあります。畳の部屋では靴を脱ぎますが、土間では脱ぎません。土間の床は固めた土で出来ているからです。
古民家には、通常、土間と竈があり、人々はそこで調理して、畳の部屋で食べていました。

In checking the websites, I found a small Kominka in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto.
This was really in the mountains, and it takes 1.5 hour from my place but very close to (and in the same village with) my cousin who lives in countryside.

The house was being sold just for 20,000 USD. It had just ground floor and a small garden, and was half renovated. It did not have the latest facilities, no system kitchen but Doma and Kamado oven.

Doma is the space between the entrance and the residential rooms (say, the rooms with Tatami mat). We take off our shoes when we stay in the Tatami rooms but not in Doma. The floor in Doma is made of solidified soil, so we can stay with our shoes.
The old houses usually had Kamodo oven in Doma and people cooked there and ate in the Tatami room.

もしこの家を買ったら、おそらく構造は大丈夫だろうけれどもキッチンとトイレ、お風呂は入れ替える必要があると思いました。これまでに竈を使ったことがないので、どうやって使ったらいいか、わかりません。竈を残してもいいかもしれないけれど、日常のご飯を作るのに使うのは無理です。
土間については、最近、見直されて人気があり、新築の家に敢えて設ける人もいるので、そのまま残したいところです。
私の空想はどんどん広がり、急いで不動産屋さんに連絡しました。
が、、、残念なことに、家はちょうど売れたところでした。購入希望者がローンを申し込んでいて、ちょうどその承認がおりたそうです。
また次の物件を探すことにしました。

If we bought this house, I thought the structure should be OK but the kitchen and the bathroom should be replaced. I have never used Kamado oven in my life and don’t know how to use it. We may leave it, but it should be difficult to use for our daily meal.
For Doma, now it’s getting popular and revived, so we would like to keep it as it is.

My imagination has expanded. I rushed in to contact with the agent.

Sadly, the house was just sold. The person wished to purchase this property was applying for mortgage, and it was approved.

OK…. we would go see another.
