DIYと裁縫 / DIY and Sewing

お盆休みの間、外は雨でやることがないので、田舎の家に必要なものを自分で作ろうということになりました。
そこで夫は、夏の間たくさんの洗濯物がありますが、乾かす場所が十分になかったので、浴室に洗濯物を乾かすことができる棒を設置しました。

During the Obon holidays, we didn’t have to do anything outside because of the rain, so we decided to make what we needed for our country house.
My husband was working to make a clothesline in the bathroom as we have many laundry during summer but not enough space to dry.

また、疲れたときに庭で休めるベンチを作っていました。これもよくできています！

And he produced a bench that we can sit on when tired in the garden.

私はミシンを買いました。裁縫なんて中学校での授業以来30数年ぶり！
説明書などを見ながら、手始めにクッションカバーとトイレットペーパーホルダーを作ってみました。けっこう時間がかかり、失敗もしてやり直したけど、出来上がりは悪くないかな？！
I bought a sewing machine. Last time I used a sewing machine was when I was in junior high school, that was more than 30 years ago. I read through the instructions and watched some YouTube videos and to get started, I tried to make a cushion cover and a toilet paper holder. It took a long time and I made many mistakes, but finally I did it! Do they look good?!
